Hi guys This is my first post here on the FreeNAS forum. They probably are still being used, synology is just giving a warning that they're going bad. The health status is simply a warning that bad sectors are increasing and getting to a potentially critical level, it doesn't mean the drive has failed or is no longer functional. That being said with raid 6 you can loose two drives without issue, if they won't send you the drives first I would send one back at a time. Thank you for providing all the info, it helps a lot! I would agree that it's preferable to replace the drives before sending the old ones in, I would encourage you to push for that as it has the lowest chance of failure overall.
